# PPT AI: Using a Desktop AI Workspace for Presentations

PPT AI means using AI models to draft, restructure or fill in PowerPoint presentations from your source material. It works best when the AI can see all your inputs, such as reports, notes and images, and gives you back a finished file rather than a chat reply. Talos is a desktop AI workspace for macOS and Windows. It handles multiple files and formats in one task, including PPTX, and delivers the finished files.

## What "PPT AI" usually means

The term covers a few different jobs:

- **Drafting a deck from source material.** You turn a report, brief or meeting notes into slides.
- **Restructuring an existing deck.** You reorder, shorten or rewrite slides for a new audience.
- **Consolidating inputs.** You pull content from PDFs, Word documents and images into one presentation.
- **Producing related assets.** You create visuals or companion content that go with the slides.

Most chat-style assistants only handle part of this. They can suggest slide text, but you still have to copy content between apps and rebuild the file yourself.

## Where chat-only PPT AI falls short

- **Context is split up.** Source files, drafts and feedback end up in different places.
- **You get text, not files.** Turning a response into a usable `.pptx` is still manual work.
- **Tasks that repeat start from zero.** Weekly or monthly decks have to be set up again every time.

## How Talos approaches presentation work

Talos isn't built for quick Q&A. It's an immersive AI workspace for real work and everyday tasks, and it carries tasks forward using the files and tools you authorize.

### Several files and formats in one task

Talos works with multiple files and formats in one task, then delivers the finished files. PDF, Word, PPTX and images are among the formats it has been shown to handle. So a presentation task can start from the documents you already have, and you don't need to paste content into a chat box.

### Content assets beyond the slides

Talos can go from generated images to a coordinated set of content assets that are ready to publish. Ready to publish doesn't mean it publishes for you. You decide whether and when anything goes out.

### A focused workspace for longer decks

Presentation work often takes several rounds. Talos keeps complex work connected with quick session navigation and a full-screen workspace.

### Scheduled, recurring tasks

Talos can start recurring tasks on a schedule and keep each run and its results. Talos must be running at the scheduled time for the task to run.

### Model choice

You can use hosted models, which are available after you sign in and are billed through included credits where applicable. Or you can connect your own model account or API key. If you bring your own key, it's stored on your device, and requests go directly from your device to the model service provider. Transactions that use included credits are itemized in the product.

## Data handling for presentation files

Decks often contain internal figures and plans, so it helps to know where the data goes:

- **Local-first design.** By default, Talos stores your conversation history, authorized files, skills and configuration on your device.
- **Not fully offline.** Local-first doesn't mean offline. Model requests still go to a model service provider.
- **Hosted model requests.** When you use included credits, request content passes through the Talos gateway to the model service provider you selected, for fulfillment and billing.
- **No training on your conversations, no data sales.** Your conversation content isn't used for model training, and your data isn't sold.

## Tips for better results with PPT AI

1. **Give it the real sources.** Attach the reports, notes and images the deck should come from.
2. **State the audience and length.** For example, "10 slides for executives" gives the AI a clear target.
3. **Say what to keep.** Tell it which existing slides, figures or wording must not change.
4. **Review before sharing.** Check the numbers, claims and formatting in the delivered file yourself.

## FAQ

### Can Talos work with PowerPoint files?
Yes. PPTX is one of the formats Talos has been shown to handle, along with PDF, Word and images. It can work with several of these in one task and deliver the finished files.

### Does Talos publish or send my presentation automatically?
No. Talos can prepare assets that are ready to publish, but you decide whether and when to publish them.
